The Guildhall, Bath | Matt & Rain
Matt & Rain’s wedding at The Guildhall in Bath - simple, central, and properly theirs.

Matt & Rain’s Wedding at The Guildhall, Bath
Matt and Rain chose The Guildhall in Bath because it made sense.
Central location. Historic building. Easy for guests. No unnecessary complications.
The Guildhall has that classic registry office feel. High ceilings. Period details. A room that feels formal enough for the occasion without being intimidating.
It suited the day. Clean. Straightforward. No fuss.
The Ceremony
The ceremony room at The Guildhall is good to work in. There’s decent light. Clear sightlines. Space to move without becoming part of the show.
Matt and Rain kept things tight and personal. A friend spoke during the ceremony, which gave it weight without making it theatrical.
There were smiles. A couple of nervous laughs. Proper attention in the room.
Nothing forced. Nothing staged.
That’s what I’m looking for when I photograph registry weddings. Not exaggerated emotion. Just what’s actually happening in front of me.

How the Day Flowed
Guildhall Bath weddings tend to work well when they’re kept simple.
Everything is close. Everything is manageable. You’re not spending half the day in transport.
Matt and Rain focused on being present rather than orchestrating a schedule.
That’s usually when the best photographs happen - when people aren’t being constantly repositioned.

My Approach to Registry Weddings
When I photograph registry office weddings like this, I keep it observational.
I’m not choreographing reactions.
I’m not manufacturing moments.
I’m not dragging you away from guests for half an hour.
I pay attention.
The look across the room.
The reaction during a speech.
The small shifts in energy as the day moves on.
That’s enough.
